NSAIDs in OA Management: Risk-Benefit Evaluation

After reviewing the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis (OA), this program will examine OA treatments. Emphasis will be placed on appropriate use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to maximize efficacy and reduce associated risks. The long-term use of NSAIDs in OA will also be considered. In addition, the advantages of a multimodal approach, including adjunctive analgesics, exercise, dietary modification, and weight optimization, will be discussed. You’ll walk away with a basic approach to effectively managing all OA pain patients.
